Congratulations to LAGSL's 12U Red All-Stars!
Southern California ASA State Champions!!!!
The next step for LAGSL’s 12U All-Star Team, 2010 State Champs AND 2010 District Champs, is the ASA Western National Tournament in Las Cruces, New Mexico. To help offset costs for the trip, the team is holding a series of fundraisers beginning this week. We hope you can support the team at one or more of these upcoming events!
SATURDAY, JULY 24: Garage sale at 11491 Kensington Road in Rossmoor from 7:00 AM-noon. Any contributions would be appreciated and can be delivered to this home during the week or Friday afternoon.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 28: Bake sale at Ralphs in the Target Center from noon-5:00PM. Bakery contributions to the booth on the 28th and coming by for a goodie and to wish the girls luck that day would be great.
THURSDAY, JULY 29: LAGSL Night at California Pizza Kitchen on Los Alamitos Boulevard from 11:00AM-9:30PM. – Remember to bring this flyer with you! (Click here for link)
SATURDAY, JULY 31: A skills boot camp/clinic at Rossmoor Park from 9:00-noon, run by former Olympian and coach of the 12U team Donna McElrea, her staff, and the 12U team. $40 entry fee with t-shirts for the 1st 50 sign ups.

The 12Us will be heading to Las Cruces, New Mexico in August
to play for the "B" Western National Championship!
A one-day softball clinic - Sat, July 31 from 9am-12noon at Rossmoor Park - is being organized to raise funds to help send the 12U All-Stars to a national championship in the desert! The clinic will be run by former USA National Team member Donna McElrea. Online pre-registration is $40; walk-up registration the day of the clinic will be $50.

After day one at the Simi Valley Amanda McPherson Tournament, 7 LAGSL All-Star teams were a combined 13-0-1, and all LAGSL teams finished #1 in their pool!
LAGSL's Results from Simi Valley:
8U Blue: Runner up, losing a 10-8 game in the final after 13-1 semifinal win!
8U Red: Another tournament championship. A fun team to watch as they pitch, hit, run and field well.
10U Blue: Tournament runner up in a very competitive silver bracket. They beat teams that had won multiple tournaments and lost in the final 4-3.
10U Red: They won their first game and won their pool. Lost 3-2 in bracket play against a good Simi Valley team. Only gave up 7 runs in 3 games.
12U Blue: Won their 3rd straight tournament with a mercy in the final against PYL. Won 10-8 in the semifinal and had a terrific second season.
12U Red: Lost in bracket play after winning their pool. They only gave up 5 runs in 3 games.
14U Red: Another tournament championship. Consistent play and good coaching. Got better as the tournament went on.

Tustin Tournament Champs!!! (Twice!)
Congratulations to LAGSL's 10U and 12U Blue All-Star Teams, which both took 1st place at the Tustin Romp June 12-13. Ted Holcomb's 12U All Stars beat Orange Canyon 11-4, while Mike Trotter's 10U team beat Rancho Trabuco 4-1 in their final. Way to bring home the hardware ladies!!!

Rob Weil's Softball Summer Camps!
Los Alamitos High School Varsity Softball* Head Coach Rob Weil and his staff are hosting two camps this summer. (Also contact Coach Weil for information about a pitching clinic on July 5)
The first camp is for incoming freshman as well as players who have not played in the program and will be held from Monday, July 12 through Thursday, July 15. All new and returning players will try-out on Friday, July 16. The camp will include the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and base running along with conditioning. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. until noon and the fee is $200.
The second camp is for ages 8-14 and will be held from Monday, July 19 through Friday, July 23. This camp will include fundamentals of fielding, throwing, hitting and base running. It will also include pitching and catching fundamentals. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. until noon and the fee is $175.
If interested in attending either of these camps, please complete the appropriate attached registration form and mail in with the payment. Registration is on a first come first served basis. Please make check payable to Rob Weil and mail to:

14U CHAMPIONS!!! WAY TO GO!!!
Los Al 14U team #2 (Corey) went 5-0 in the tournament winning by scores of 8-0, 9-1, 8-1, 10-2 & 13-7. They ended the season with a record of 22-0-1!!! A tremendous performance by the girls & the 2nd year in a row Los Al has come out on top in the 16-team inter-city tournament.
